Terms of Service

Effective date: May 4, 2026

1. Acceptance of terms

By creating an account or using the Vetted Neighbor™ service (the “Service”), you agree to these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

2. Description of service

Vetted Neighbor™ is a one-to-one customer-connection marketplace connecting Northwest Arkansas homeowners (“Neighbors”) with service professionals (“Pros”) who have been vouched for by other Neighbors. A Neighbor's contact details are released to a single Pro only after the Neighbor explicitly approves sharing them with that one chosen Pro; we are not a lead-generation service and do not auction, resell, or share Neighbor contact information with third-party lead buyers or aggregators. We do not perform the underlying services and we do not verify a Pro’s credentials, licenses, insurance, background checks, or bonding. Verification is the Neighbor’s responsibility.

3. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old, a U.S. resident, and able to verify a working U.S. mobile phone number. Pros must additionally verify an email address.

4. Account responsibilities

You agree to provide accurate information, keep your account credentials secure, and promptly update information that changes. You are responsible for all activity on your account.

5. Pro-specific terms

  • Pricing: $10 per customer connection. A “customer connection” is a Neighbor who selects you through the Service and explicitly approves sharing their contact details with you.
  • Card on file: Pros must save a valid payment card during signup. Stripe stores and processes payment credentials.
  • Automatic charges: Stripe charges your card automatically when a Neighbor selects you and approves sharing their contact details.
  • Profile claims: You are solely responsible for any license, insurance, certification, or credential claims you display on your profile.
  • TCPA compliance: When you send vouch-request texts through the Service, you represent that each recipient has given prior express consent or has an established business relationship with you. You are responsible for compliance with the Telephone Consumer Protection Act and related state laws.

6. Neighbor-specific terms

  • The Service is free for Neighbors.
  • You acknowledge that Vetted Neighbor does not verify Pro credentials and that vetting is your responsibility.
  • Your contact information is shared only with the specific Pro you select, only after you explicitly approve sharing it. We never auction, resell, or share contact details with multiple Pros or third-party lead buyers.

7. SMS and messaging

  • You opt in to SMS by providing your phone number with affirmative consent at signup.
  • Message frequency varies based on account activity (verification, customer connection alerts, vouch invites, billing alerts).
  • Message and data rates may apply per your wireless plan.
  • Reply STOP to opt out at any time, or HELP for help.

8. Vouching

Vouches must come from non-affiliated parties — not the Pro themselves, employees of the Pro, or family members of the Pro. We may remove vouches that violate this policy and may suspend accounts that repeatedly do so.

9. Refunds and disputes

Pros may dispute a charge within seven (7) days of the customer connection. Refunds are issued via Stripe at our reasonable discretion based on the facts of the dispute. Submit refund requests to founder@vettedneighbor.com.

10. Disclaimer of warranties

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE,” WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND. WE DO NOT WARRANT THE QUALITY, SAFETY, LEGALITY, OR PERFORMANCE OF ANY PRO OR ANY WORK PERFORMED BY A PRO.

11. Limitation of liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, VETTED NEIGHBOR’S TOTAL LIABILITY ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO THE SERVICE IS LIMITED TO THE GREATER OF (A) $100 OR (B) THE FEES YOU PAID TO US IN THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM.

12. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Arkansas, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles.

13. Dispute resolution

The parties will first attempt to resolve any dispute through informal good-faith negotiation. Unresolved disputes will be settled by binding arbitration seated in Bentonville, Arkansas, under the rules of the American Arbitration Association.

14. Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via email or in-app notice before they take effect.
